Crookedwood Hurling Club Fundraising Draw — Terms & Conditions

Version: 4 October 2026

1. Promoter and purpose

The fundraising draw is promoted by Crookedwood Hurling Club, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath (“the Promoter”).

The purpose of the draw is to raise funds for the development of the Club, including the new grounds purchased by the Club for the development of a new pitch. The Promoter shall derive no personal profit from the lottery.

2. Lottery licence

The lottery is operated pursuant to a Lottery Licence granted by the District Court, District Court Area of Mullingar, District No. 9, under Section 28 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1956.

The licence was granted to Ciaran McKenna of Crookedwood Hurling Club, Mullingar, Westmeath, by order of the District Court dated 26 June 2026, and authorises the promotion of periodical lotteries during the period 28 June 2026 to 31 October 2026.

3. Eligibility

Entry is open only to natural persons aged 18 years or over. Any entry made by a person under 18, or otherwise ineligible to participate, may be declared void and excluded from the draw. Entrants are responsible for ensuring that participation is lawful in the jurisdiction from which they enter.

4. Acceptance of these Terms

By purchasing an entry, the purchaser confirms that they are eligible to participate and agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions will be recorded as part of the online purchase process.

5. Entries and ticket numbers

An entry is valid only when payment has been successfully completed and the entry has been confirmed by the Promoter. Following successful payment and processing, the purchaser will receive confirmation of their entry and their allocated ticket number(s).

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries or payments which are not successfully received or completed because of technical failure, communications failure, incorrect information supplied by the purchaser or other circumstances outside the Promoter's reasonable control.

If a payment is subsequently reversed, cancelled, refunded, disputed or otherwise found not to have been successfully completed, the corresponding entry may be declared void.

6. Refunds and cancellation

Entries are generally non-refundable once successfully purchased. If the draw is cancelled and does not take place, entrants will be entitled to a refund of the amount paid for affected entries. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights that an entrant may have under applicable law.

7. Draw date

The draw is scheduled to take place on 31 October 2026.

If circumstances outside the Promoter's reasonable control require the draw date, time or location to be changed, the Promoter may make such a change subject to the lottery licence and applicable law. Any material change will be communicated through the Crookedwood fundraising website and/or the Club's official communication channels.

8. Conduct of the draw

The draw will be conducted fairly under the supervision of the Promoter. Each valid ticket number will constitute an entry into the draw. Winning entries will be determined through the draw process operated by or on behalf of the Promoter.

9. Prizes

The prizes are those advertised by Crookedwood Hurling Club for this fundraising draw. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to ensure that descriptions and information relating to prizes are accurate. Prizes are awarded to the holder of the winning valid ticket and are subject to verification by the Promoter.

10. Winner notification and verification

Winners will be contacted using the contact details supplied when purchasing their entry. The Promoter may require a winner to provide reasonable proof of identity, age and ownership of the winning entry before releasing a prize. Entrants are responsible for providing accurate contact information.

11. Claiming a prize

A winner must respond to the Promoter within seven days of notification, or within such longer period as the Promoter may reasonably allow. If a winner cannot be contacted after reasonable efforts, is found to be ineligible, fails verification or fails to claim their prize within the required period, the Promoter reserves the right, where permitted by law and the applicable licence, to select an alternative winner.

12. Winner publicity

The name and general location of a winner may be announced following the draw. Where photographs, video or other promotional material involving a winner are proposed, these will be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements. Personal information relating to entrants and winners will otherwise be handled in accordance with the Crookedwood Privacy Policy.

13. Data protection

Personal information supplied in connection with the draw will be processed for purposes including administering entries, processing payments, allocating ticket numbers, contacting entrants, administering the draw, verifying winners, awarding prizes, complying with legal and regulatory obligations and preventing fraud or misuse.

Further information about how personal information is collected, used, retained and protected is contained in the Crookedwood Privacy Policy.

14. Changes or unforeseen circumstances

The Promoter reserves the right to make changes reasonably necessary for the proper administration of the draw where required because of unforeseen circumstances, legal or regulatory requirements, technical issues or events outside the Promoter's reasonable control. Any material change affecting entrants will be communicated appropriately.

Nothing in this clause permits the Promoter to operate the draw contrary to the terms of its lottery licence or applicable law.

15. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be responsible for loss resulting from technical failures, communication failures or events outside its reasonable control that prevent an attempted entry from being successfully received or completed. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

16. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions and the operation of the draw are governed by Irish law. Any dispute arising in connection with the draw or these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

17. Contact
